ARTSCAPE LAUNCHPAD
In 2021, 80.3% of hubs received funding from the City of Toronto for encouraging the creator's economy creative and cultural industries.
Artscape Launchpad is a creative entrepreneurship hub that provides co-working, events space, design & fabrication, and digital media facilities to support creatives looking to start and grow their careers and businesses. Their goal is to be a growing part of the creative economy and create a niche in untapped opportunities at the intersection of arts, creativity, and the innovation of the urban economy.
Our assessments highlighted the Launchpad team being overstretched due to challenges faced during Covid-19 which has resulted in internal tensions, organizational identity crisis, and operational difficulties.
With the stakeholders, we crafted an innovation intent of Launchpad aiming to be a fully-sustainable revenue-based non-profit in the creative economy in Toronto.
The strategies to achieve the aim focussed primarily on identity creation, market visibility, internal operations optimization, new revenue streams, and research and development.
